\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0February 13, 2025 marked the kick off of the WOAS-FM 91.5 \/ Ontonagon Area Schools safe driving public service campaign.\u00a0 This state-wide initiative is called Strive 4 A Safer Drive (S4SD) and is funded by $1,000 grants from the Ford Motor Company and the Michigan Department of Transportation.\u00a0 This will be the tenth consecutive year that OASD students who work at the school\u2019s FM station have conducted this campaign.\u00a0 While there have been two or three other Upper Peninsula schools who have joined S4SD in the past, the Ontonagon Area School District is the only U.P. school to have participated continuously over the past decade.\u00a0 Students at the school will be challenged to create original posters, buttons, and coloring pages that will be judged and put on display.\u00a0 The contests will run until late March 2025 and the winners will be announced in early April.<\/span><\/p>\n
