WOAS TOWER REPLACEMENT CAMPAIGN
WOAS FM 91.5 TOWER FUND CAMPAIGN
Our broadcast tower was damaged by ice.
The age of the structure dictates it must be replaced.
We are formulating a replacement plan but
need to get a jump start on funding it ASAP.
Please send your tax deductible donations to:

Thank you so much for your help!

Well – that is the short version – our tower has ice damage that can not be repaired – it is 60 years old and was used when we got it – so not really a big surprise. We did not think after the response we got in 2023 raising funds to change to our new 91.5 frequency that we would be back in the fundraising saddle so soon…but we have no option if we intend to continue broadcasting over the airwaves.
A new tower would be prohibitively expensive but we have the possibility of sourcing a used tower locally that will cut our costs down a great deal. With that said, there are still going to be costs involved in pouring a new concrete bad for the tower, bolts to connect the sections together, crane time, etc etc etc.
So once again, we are putting our faith in the same kinds of people and organizations who got us over the hump. While we only have $40.17 left from that fundraiser, every bit of it went into equipment including our new tower bays – all we need now is a place to hang them! Thank you in advance to all you generous people who are reading this . . . it is more likely you will be our salvation and not the Powerball tickets I have been buying!
Also thank you to everyone who stopped by our studio open house during the All-School Reunion on July 25, 2025. It was fun to hear Kevin Countryman and Jon Schneck telling tales about raising the original tower. Contrats also to Kevin for winning the SWAG door prize for being the first one(s) (along with his wife) to walk in the door. We will keep you posted on our progress! ker
Top Piece Video – As long as we are talking tower, how about TOWER OF POWER with What Is Hip? I can not tell if SNL’s Lenny Pickett is still with them at this point . . . can you?
