Remembering Our Past, Present, & Future
Congratulations to the WOAS-FM 91.5 DJs and Communications Class for earning FIRST PLACE in the state for this year’s Don’t be Distracted safe driving campaign. 2025-26 was the 11th consecutive year WOAS-FM has taken part in the state-wide Strive 4 a Safer Drive (S4SD) program by applying for a $1,000 grant to cover material costs and contest prizes. The entire K-12 student body is encouraged to participate in poster and coloring contests to engage them in the topic of safe driving, even before they are old enough to drive.

The DBD 11th advisors included Rios, Betsy Guilbault, John Uotila and WOAS-FM General Manager Ken Raisanen. CONGRATULATIONS – their hard work earned a $750 award for WOAS-FM, the Ontonagon Area Schools owned FM station.

The newest entry for DbD11 is there a long with a new tile honoring some of the people who founded and/or kept the station running from 1978 through the transition from 88.5 to out new frequency of 91.5.
Our next project is the installation of our new broadcast tower set for later this summer.
